Some plans start with nobody to go with. Hosts can mark an event solo-friendly, and you can say you are going solo; solo guests get one friendly introduction before the event.
Turn on Open to meeting people and pick a few interests, and people nearby who share one appear in Find Friends. On public events, a line tells you how many friends of your friends are going. The morning after an event, you can add the people you met, and anyone can scan your Add me code to send a friend request.
- Meeting people is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off anytime.
- Only adults who share an interest with you are suggested, and only a rough distance is shown, never where they live.
- In Who is going, people are named only with their permission; otherwise you see a count.
Nobody ever sees your calendar — only whether you’re free or busy
Across every MyOwnEvents feature, your event titles, your guests, and your locations stay private. When we help you and your friends find a time, others see only whether you are free or busy — never the event details behind it. Your raw calendar events are never sold, never used for ads, and never sent to AI. Our scheduling assistant uses only the overall picture (like how many invitees are free at a given time) to suggest times — and that is never used to train AI models.
