What it is
You front the money for something everyone is coming to — the house, the boat, the bus — and then spend the next week chasing people for their share. A split collects each person’s share through MyOwnEvents, so the money lands in your bank instead of your group chat.
MyOwnEvents takes no cut of a split. The card or bank cost is added on top of each person’s share, so you receive exactly the amount you asked for. Split the Cost is part of our paid plans.
How it works

Set what it costs
Name one amount per person — with no limit on how many can join — or give a total to divide between however many do.

People join by RSVPing
Anyone who says yes is in the split and sees their own share before they commit, then pays by bank or card.

Watch it come in
See who has paid and who has not, nudge anyone still owing, and if more comes in than the event cost, refund the difference evenly.
Your privacy, protected
- Card and bank details are handled entirely by Stripe — MyOwnEvents never sees or stores them.
- Each person only ever sees their own share. The itemized cost breakdown stays off unless you turn it on, and receipts you upload are never shown to guests.
- If an event is cancelled, recovering the money from a venue or vendor and refunding people is the host’s own responsibility — we say so before anyone pays.
Nobody ever sees your calendar — only whether you’re free or busy
Across every MyOwnEvents feature, your event titles, your guests, and your locations stay private. When we help you and your friends find a time, others see only whether you are free or busy — never the event details behind it. Your raw calendar events are never sold, never used for ads, and never sent to AI. Our scheduling assistant uses only the overall picture (like how many invitees are free at a given time) to suggest times — and that is never used to train AI models.
